Metalurg took one point from Nasice
NEXE did not manage to beat Metalurg from Skopje at home in Nasice. In the end it was 31:31 after a very interesting and dramatic match. NEXE has not achieved a win for over a 100 days in the SEHA - Gazprom league. It was their fourth match without a victory.
During the first half both teams were in the lead, but none of them had more than a two-goal advantage. It was interesting to see Metalurg play with ‘seven players’ in attack, during the first half. Also, both teams had too many missed clear goal-scoring situations. After first 30 minutes the team from Nasice held a minimal advantage; ten seconds before the break Buvinic scored for 16:15. In the last first half play, Metalurg’s Jaganjac found the net but it was after the buzzer.
Second half was very similar, but the visitors had more opportunities. In the 51st minute team from Skopje had a three goal advantage (25:28) for the first time in the match. After that Tomic and Buvinic scored for NEXE twice in a row. Visitors’ top scorer Jaganjac earned a two minute suspension. With one player more in the field Sipic scored to tie the result up (31:31). In NEXE’s team Lavric earned a suspension until the end of the match. Pilipovic saved Ilic’s flashy attempt. After a time out NEXE had a chance to win the match, but with three seconds left Manci Micevic saw his shot go over the bar.
Marko Buvinic for NEXE and Halil Jaganjac for Metalurg had nine goals each. were the top scorers in this match.
Prior to the match NEXE and Metalurg participated in the third part of the action of donating books to the Croatian National Library in Nasice. Tatran Presov, Vardar and Metalurg donated around 800 books in total, in this noble action.
