Gasper Marguc

Round 10 of the VELUX EHF Champions League is around the corner. This week will bring many interesting clashes as SEHA clubs will face rematches. Motor Zaporozhye, Eurofarm Rabotnik, Tatran Presov and Vardar will play at home, while Meshkov Brest, PPD Zagreb and Telekom Veszprem will seek their chance for winning the points in away appearances.

(Group B) Motor Zaporozhye – Porto Sofarma
Motor Zaporozhye will open Round 10 for SEHA clubs. They will host Portugese team Porto Sofarma on Wednesday, 27th of November and will be looking to deliver their first VELUX EHF Champions League victory of the season. Their previous clash in Round 5 ended with a tie which means the action on the court this time will also be tough. But, as Motor Zaporozhye showed great resistance in the previous round and delivered a draw against THW Kiel, there is no doubt that they have a confidence ahead of this match.

(Group B) PGE VIVE Kielce – Meshkov Brest
Another tough outing is in front of Belarusian champions, Meshkov Brest who will travel to Poland to meet PGE VIVE Kielce in this round. Home team secured victory in their first clash in Round 5 and now Meshkov Brest will have a chance to get a revenge for that defeat. Belarusian team can be pleased with their performance in the previous round when they won against Vardar. That achievement gave them a confidence boost ahead of this clash. On the other side, last round was not that successful for Polish team who faced defeat against Telekom Veszprem.

(Group A) MOL-Pick Szeged – PPD Zagreb
Saturday will be reserved for another interesting clash. PPD Zagreb will meet with Hungarian MOL-Pick Szeged and will be looking to secure new points. After their debut Champions League win of the season from the previous round, Croatian champions have the extra motive to continue with such results. It won't be easy to do so as MOL-Pick Szeged showed serious intentions on the court so far and are holding 3rd position in Group A with 7 victories, one draw and only one defeat behind them. This also won't be the first clash of the season between these teams as they already met in Round 5 when Hungarian side delivered victory.

(Group C) Eurofarm Rabotnik – Bidasoa Irun
Eurofarm Rabotnik's fans will have the chance to cheer for their team in Boro Curlevski hall on Saturday as team from Bitola will welcome Bidasoa Irun. Without a doubt this will be a tough clash between the clubs that are currently holding top and bottom positions in Group C. With 6 victories and 3 draws this season, Bidasoa Irun are holding the 1st position, while Eurofarm Rabotnik with 2 victories and 7 losses are placed on the 6th position. In their premiere clash of the season, Spanish team took the points in a tight 26:25 victory.

(Group C) Tatran Presov – Cocks
Home court appearance is also in front of Slovakian Tatran Presov who will in this round host Finnish team, Cocks. Their clash is also scheduled for Saturday, 30th of November at 18:00. After tough match against IK Savehof in the previous round and 29:30 defeat, Slavko Goluza's squad will be looking to come back on the winning track with this one. On the other side, previous round was victorious for the guests. It will be interesting to see who will take the points this time as Cocks secured victory a few rounds ago when these clubs met.

(Group B) Vardar – Telekom Veszprem
Derby between Vardar and Telekom Veszprem on Sunday, 1st of December will close Round 10 for SEHA clubs. This will be the clash of two well-known SEHA teams that already met once in the VELUX EHF Champions League this season. That time Hungarian champions outplayed Vardar and took points on the home court. After two back to back defeats in the previous rounds, reigning SEHA and European champions will be eager to secure victory and improve their standings in Group B. Vardar are currently placed on the 6th position while Telekom Veszprem, on the other side, are holding 2nd position. Hungarian team is placed right behind THW Kiel and the gap between them is only 2 points.
