After winning their ninth straight Superleague championship title with only one tie versus Donbas Mariupol, Motor Zaporozhye were given the chance to straighten things out against them in the Ukrainian Cup. And it was no easy match, to say the least.

Gintaras Savukinas came out with his best lineup, because he knew how tough their opponents were. After first 30 minutes the match was tied at 11, which meant tension was getting harder. In the 43rd minute, Donbas were in charge with a two-goal lead (16:18), but Motor took things in their own hands and turned the match around for their eighth Cup title. Motor Zaporozhye were resolute and kept their lead until the final buzzer (27:24).

Aidenas Malasinskas was the Cup final MVP, finishing the match with 8 goals. Dmytro Horiha and Barys Pukhouski added 6 and 4, respectively.
