RK Vojvodina Novi Sad have defended title of the best team in Serbia for the eighth year in a row. Team led by coach Boris Rojevic convincingly ended the Championship race by beating all their rivals in Play-Off of ARKUS League. In 14 matches, team from Slana Bara hall celebrated 14 times to secure the trophy two weeks before the end of the season.

This is the 9th title in the history of the club, having won the first major trophy in 2005.

In the last match, RK Vojvodina beat RK Metaloplastika 35:33 before the award ceremony held on the court of “Slana Bara”.

"In my two years in the club, we always played with a lot of energy and motivation. I am not interested in the battle for second and third place, as we have our goal to finish every season with a clear record – 14 wins. We had a very good season. I am very satisfied. There is a system in Vojvodina. That is the biggest advantage in comparison with our rivals in Serbia. Club is doing a lot of smart things, making small steps to be ahead of other teams. I hope to make a step forward on the European level. We will need a bit of luck in draw for the European League Group stage in order to make something bigger. Otherwise, we can’t compete with teams like Nantes, Rhein Neckar Lowen, etc…" – said the most experienced member of the Vojvodina’s back-line, former Serbian and Macedonian national team playmaker Nemanja Pribak.

Coach Boris Rojevic was overexcited after lifting another, third Championship trophy in his career:

I feel great. When the season began, we signed Bojan Beljanski, a big name around whom we wanted to build the squad. Unfortunately, he missed  the season due to an injury, but some other names came through. Milan Vukovljak, Stefan Miljkovic and Aleksandar Kurtes came to the club and had significant roles in our success. Branko Tomic exploded during this season. I am very happy for all the boys and proud of the success of our club. I hope that quality of Vojvodina will be recognized by sponsors, Federation and the State. We still need two or three players to represent Serbian handball on the best possible way at EHF European League.

Preparation for the new season has already begun. The first signing of the club, who have been ruling Serbian handball since 2013, is U20 EHF EURO 2019 MVP, Slovenian left back Gregor Ocvirk, ex member of RK Celje Pivovarna Lasko, RK Vardar 1961 and IFK Kristianstad.
