A lot is going to change after a very unusual season for Telekom Veszprem. Having won only the Hungarian Cup, their management has decided to part ways with the Spanish head coach, David Davis. During his three years, Davis and Telekom Veszprem have also won one Hungarian championship and the prestigious SEHA – Gazprom League trophy. Even though it seems like a great set of achievements, Hungarian side always strives for more. Therefore it doesn't surprise that they have been searching for someone who will bring out the best from their players.

Veszprem found the coach they wanted in one of their best players ever – Momir Ilic. He accomplished so much as a player, and after being part of David Davis' coaching staff for two years there is no doubt the four-time EHFCL runner-up, Telekom Veszprem, will undergo major alternations. Momir Ilic had a brilliant playing career and will always be remembered as the 2012 EURO most valuable player when Serbia won the silver medal. Besides that, Ilic is a two-time SEHA and EHFCL champion, fourth all-time in scoring in Champions League (969 goals) and he lifted the Bundesliga trophy three times. All this and a couple of EHFCL top scorer awards definitely put him in an elite company of best left-backs in the history of handball. He choose Peter Gulyas as his assistant, which means Telekom Veszprem will get a lot of support from two ex-players that are true legends of the club.

Time will tell what can and will be done to put them back on track, but the „Bombarder from Bukulja“ shall undeniably do what's in his powers to find the missing ingredient Telekom Veszprem has been looking for.
