Motor celebrate in a SEHA derby against Veszprem, PPD Zagreb and Meshkov share points

Another busy European week is behind us which means it is once again time for our weekly recap!
 
EHF Champions League
 

Vardar 1961 was defeated in Hungary, in a match against Pick Szeged 34:31. Timur Dibirov was once again shining with seven goals while Martin Tomovski grabbed 13 saves. Unfortunately for the ‘Red&Black’, it simply wasn’t enough. In the SEHA – Gazprom League derby of group A between Meshkov and PPD Zagreb in Belarus we’ve seen a draw (30:30). Although it looked like Zagreb was closer to the final win, Meshkov’s players were able to keep their composure and secure their first Champions League point of the season. Ivan Cupic finished the match with seven for Zagreb while Stanislav Kasparek netted six for hosts.
 
In the SEHA – Gazprom League derby of group B between Motor Zaporozhye and Telekom Veszprem, Ukrainians managed to take revenge for their F4 semi-final loss celebrating a 29:27 win in the end. Zakhar Denysov and Dmytro Horiha netted six each for Motor while Gennadiy Komok grabbed 13 saves. Kentin Mahe on the other side led Hungarians with six.

In group A Tatran Presov suffered a 29:33 home loss against Swiss Pfadi Winterthur. Viacheslau Kasatkin netted eight goals for the hosts.
In group C Nexe failed to take points home from Slovenia following a 34:28 loss against Gorenje Velenje. Line player Mario Tomic led them in this one with six goals.
In group D, Eurofarm Pelister has, after reaching a first point in the last round, now managed to reach the first victory as well playing AEK Athens in Greece. Josip Peric led Zeljko Babic’s team in this one with eight goals while Marton Szekely stopped nine shots.
