Meet the team – Tatran Presov

Tatran Presov

We have to start the story about Tatran Presov by saying that Slovak champions are one of only four teams that have been a part of SEHA – Gazprom League from the very beginnings in 2011. In that elite company, we can also find PPD Zagreb, Nexe and Vardar 1961. And that already says a lot.

This season they are entering the season with a new head coach. After four and a half years, Tatran Presov and former Croatian national team coach Slavko Goluza have decided to part ways. Their new head coach will be one of the deadliest SEHA scorers of all time and one of the trademark names of the club in general – Radoslav Antl. And now, let’s take a look at the roster.

Goalkeepers are Marcos Colodetti and Tilen Leben as well as young Daniel Ondrejcak with the first two carrying the most responsibilities when it comes to goalkeeping duties. On the far left they have Spaniard Sergio Lopez Garcia and David Michalka as well as Radoslav Antl’s 18-year-old son Marco. On the right Tomas Fech and Portuguese international Nuno Santos. On the line is Russian Viacheslav Kasatkin as well as young Peter Kimak-Fejko and sometimes, primarily defensive specialist, Roman Tsarapkin.

Their main playmaker is Brazilian national team player Pedro Pacheco capable of both creating an opportunity for himself or involving his teammates in a great way. Alongside him, they have a mix of experience in Alexandr Radcenko and potential in Valiantsin Kuran. On their left-hand side is their already iconic left back Oliver Rabek receiving help from Pavel Caballero Hernandez, everlasting Dominik Krok, Tomas Recicar and young Kiril Radcenko as well as Jakub Kravcak. Finally, on the right is another Brazilian Guilherme Linhares de Souza.

Tatran once again have a solid team which is a great mix of everything – young and experienced players as well as many different handball styles with players from Slovakia, Russia and Belarus as well as Spain, Portugal, Cuba and Brazil.

The passion they are showcasing in every single outing is contagious and despite of the fact they are sometimes entering matches as underdogs, they have managed to prove so many times that they can not only be a tough nut to crack for anyone but also that they are able to come out on top even against favored opponents.
