Nexe finish fourth on EHF Finals, Benfica goes all the way while Jaganjac shares the TOP scorer trophy with Djordjic

Nexe

Nexe did not manage to finish what will despite of this surely be remembered as one of the best seasons in their history victoriously after failing to defeat German Magdeburg in EHF Finals semi-final (34:29) and then losing to Wisla Plock in the third-place match (27:22). Despite Thunders finished fourth, great news came their way as Halil Jaganjac, alongside Petar Djordjic (Benfica) is the Top scorer of the EHF European League season 2021/22. Jaganjac and Djordjic scored 109 goals each.

Jaganjac led Nexe offensively in the semi-final scoring nine goals while young Dominik Kuzmanovic had a solid role between posts. That was not enough to defeat favored opponent – a team that is inches away from winning German Bundesliga this season.

On Sunday they fought for the bronze medal against Polish Wisla Plock eventually losing the match 27:22. Gianfranco Pribetic scored five, Fahrudin Melic added four while on the other side former PPD Zagreb’s player Lovro Mihic led Wisla scoring five as well.

In the big final Benfica managed to defeat Magdeburg 40:39 in extra time of an incredibly narrow match.
