With only a few hours left until the big EHF FINAL4 spectacle in Lanxess Arena, let's take a look at what SEHA champion, Telekom Veszprem can expect in Cologne.
At the beginning of the new EHF Champions League season Telekom Veszprem had some tough opponents in group B, such as Barca, Paris Saint-Germain, Porto, Dinamo Bucuresti, but they proved how strong they are. In the first five rounds, the Momir Ilic team was only defeated by their EHF FINAL4 opponent Lomza Vive Kielce (32:29).
In 14 group phase matches, the Hungarian team has eight victories, one draw match, and five defeats. Those stats brought them to the big handball stage, and this season will be the club's seventh EHF FINAL4 appearance in eight seasons.
Veszprem will play their semi-final match against Lomza Vive Kielce, which is a replay of the 2016 final when Kielce turned a nine-goal deficit and lifted the trophy. Two teams met again in 2019 when Veszprem won the semis but didn't make it 'till the end.
On 18/19 June 2022, the best four teams which qualified for the final tournament: Polish Lomza Vive Kielce, Spanish Barca, Hungarian Telekom Veszprem, and German THW Kiel will fight for the prestigious prize - EHFCL trophy.
