Zagreb's +10 to end the first part of the season against Borac

Zagrebu +10 protiv Borca za kraj polusezone

PPD Zagreb - Borac m:tel

Zagreb have in their last match of the first part of the seasonin SEHA Gazprom League managed to clearly beat Borac m:tel with 30:20 (15:13). Now we have some time to rest, national team break for EURO in Poland and after that regional League's challenges continue along with preparations for Final tournament - F4.

Borac have opened the match well. Boris Dvoršek' players were from the beginning trying to play fast, especially in transition and seriously weakened Zagreb was experiencing a bit of trouble adjusting to that. Borac have little more than 5 minutes before the break managed to reach even +4 (8:12). However, 'Lions' have in the end of the first half managed to speed up the tempo and finish it with 7:1 series securing them 15:13 lead. In the second part Zagreb have decided to change it an even higher gear and gap was slowly growing bigger until big +10 (30:20) in the end. By that PPD Zagreb' youngsters Jakov Vrdoljak and Petar Medić were given a big chance to show what they can scoring 2 goals each.

Kontrec and Pavlović have finished the match with 5 goals each, Stanković scored as much for guests.

Boris Dvoršek, Borac m:tel' coach:

Zagreb are even with this roster too fast and too good. For about 25 minutes we were able to keep up with their tempo but unfortunately that was as far as we could go. Our performance was not as good as against Veszprem but I think that the result is real. I expected my players to show a bit more fighting spirit, especially in the second half but unfortunately it did not happen.

Veselin Vujović, PPD Zagreb' coach:

Borac have played well in the beginning but as soon as we've managed to take over the lead their performance got way worse. In the end a well deserved win and some time to rest.

Stanko Stanković, Borac m:tel' player:

After 25 minutes we were not able to keep up with Zagreb. Their defensive performance got way better, they've scored some easy goals and in the end it was a well deserved victory.

Ivan Stevanović, PPD Zagreb' goalkeeper:

Youngsters were in the second part given a big chance and they've used it well. In second 30 minutes goal difference was slowly rising.
