Dinamo looking for points in Skopje to overtake Metalurg' position on League’s table
SEHA - Gazprom League match between Metalurg and Dinamo scheduled for Tuesday (16.15 CET) will have special significance because in case Serbian vice-champs manage to prolong good series they found themselves in lately and beat Metalug they would finish the year on seventh position which would be a great thing for SEHA League rookies from Pancevo. Macedonians are currently seventh with 9 points while Dinamo have 2 less but are in good mood after national derby win against Vojvodina (20:22) less than three days ago.
Metalurg on the other hand weren’t as lucky in their national derby falling 24:31 short against Vardar after being able to stay close for almost 45 minutes. However, their biggest problem of the season was quite visible and decisive once again - they simply lacked strength and focus to finish the match strongly and possibly stun favoured rivals. Will the same thing prove to be costly for Aleksandar Jovic and his boys against Dinamo as well or will they put an end to Serbian team’ good series in which they managed to reach four points in two matches?
Aleksandar Jovic, Metalurg coach:
We’re expecting to play a tough one versus Dinamo. Whenever we are given favorite role ahead of the match it puts some kind of weight on our shoulders and we always experience certain difficulties. When we on the other hand play stronger teams we manage to stay close until about ten minutes before the end when we simply lose strength and finish badly. We must deliver disciplined defense and fast transition in this one, score easy goals and try to stick with our tactics for as long as possible. I hope we can win and close 2017 in style with our fans.
Aleksandar Gugleta, Metalurg player:
We must not take anything for granted despite of the fact we managed to beat them in our first encounter this season. This weekend they played Vojvodina and won which certainly deserves respect. We must not lose focus because it often results with a big downfall which we can't afford. I hope we'll play a good match, like we did for about 45 minutes against Vardar, and celebrate in the end.
Ivan Petkovic, Dinamo coach:
We were quite busy lately playing four matches in only fourteen days. I hope we'll manage to prepare each and every one of our players for this match because Metalurg is a young team which has been together for a certain amount of time now. I hope we'll play good in Skopje. I have to say I'm optimistic because we're looking better and better each match. I'd like to congratulate my boys for what they did so far but we must do everything to keep rolling.
Aleksandar Pilipovic, Dinamo player:
We're in quite good mood ahead of this trip to Skopje. Metalurg is a young and motivated team but I believe we can win this.
Match will be broadcasted on Arena Sport channels, MRT (Macedonia) and ehf TV.
